George Bowering has quite some credentials; appointed the first Canadian Parliamentary Poet Laureate in 2002, he is an Officer of the Order of Canada and the Order of BC and he has published an inordinate amount of novels, poetry, etc.
I have one of his poetry books "Sticks & Stones" as well as his work in several collections of Canadian poets..
