review of RISE AND SHINE: 45 YEARS IN THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN

Mary Derksen and her husband, Peter, spent 45 years as Mennonite missionaries in Japan. Mary's story of those years is written in a straightforward, easy to follow style. She shares her experiences, thoughts, and feelings in a way that I relate to. I'm humbled in the face of her devotion to her calling, and sometimes amused at her humorous way of expressing herself.
