Submissions are open for Kahini magazine. Published eleven times per year (November/December is a combined edition), Kahini magazine features interviews and new artistic works.
We accept artistic work of three-hundred words or fewer, in all genres: poetry, prose, or cross-genre work.
Submit work by emailing writing@kahini.org. We pay $100 usd per accepted piece. Please submit without querying.
Our best advice for writers is in the words of Annie Dillard: "One of the things I know about writing is this: spend it all, shoot it, play it, lose it, all, right away, every time. Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now. Something more will arise for later, something better. These things fill from behind, from beneath, like well water."
Other than that advice, simply send us your truest, most finely tuned artistic work of three-hundred words or fewer. Our acceptance rate is currently 1.7%. We look forward to reading your work. |
