1 space or 2 spaces after a period?

Using 1 space between sentences [after full stops such as periods] is the generally accepted usage now, though a few publishers still want 2. To change from 2 to 1:

-click Replace [upper right on my screen]

-where it says Find What, type a period followed by 2 spaces

-where it says Replace With, type a period followed by 1 space

-click Replace All

Use the same procedure for other full stops in your document, e.g. question marks and exclamation marks. If you ever want to change back from 1 space to 2, use the same procedure, only the other way around.
